Cdf Player

Today's online documents are like yesterday's paper—flat, lifeless, inactive. Instead, CDF puts easy-to-author interactivity at its core, empowering readers to drive content and generate results live.
Launched by the Wolfram Group, the CDF standard is a computation-powered knowledge container—as everyday as a document, but as interactive as an app.
Adopting CDF gives ideas a broad communication pipeline—accelerating research, education, technical development, and progress.Make CDFs an everyday way to communicate. Join authors, educators, researchers, and other professionals in using CDF technology to develop interactive books, courseware, reports, and applications—without specialized programming knowledge.

Nevada Wildfires

Nevada Wildfires

A wildfire raged across 2,000 acres of sagebrush at the edge of northern Nevada's biggest city on Friday, damaging or destroying two dozen buildings, forcing thousands from their homes and leaving at least 17 people injured.
The blaze, which prompted Nevada's governor to declare a state of emergency, was blamed for one death - a 74-year-old man who authorities said died after he suffered a heart attack and lost control of his car while fleeing with his wife.
The so-called Caughlin Fire erupted shortly after midnight in the hilly, scrub-covered southern outskirts of Reno, a metropolitan area of around 420,000 people, and burned into affluent suburbs. Hundreds of homes were evacuated, some in a gated community.

The IAFF encourages affiliates to organize fundraising and awareness campaigns in support of the fight against breast and other cancers. Over the last several years, IAFF affiliates across North America have participated in events throughout October, prompting a movement to wear and sell pink T-shirts as part of their breast cancer awareness efforts.
Inspired by the success of these campaigns, in 2010, the IAFF passed a resolution that supports and encourages IAFF members to develop campaigns to benefit local and national organizations dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.
To assist affiliates in organizing their campaigns, the IAFF is again collaborating with Susan G. Komen to offer the “Passionately Pink for the Cure” campaign, which also benefits the IAFF Charitable Foundation. In Canada, last year the IAFF partnered with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research through its CIBC Run for the Cure and other activities.

Arson Investigator

Arson Investigator

The City of Madison Fire Department Fire/Arson Investigation Division has four full-time Fire/Arson Investigators who respond to investigate the origin, cause, and circumstances surrounding fires and explosions occurring in the City of Madison, as mandated by WI § 165.11 (1) and Madison General Ordinance 6.16.
Each member of the Fire/Arson Investigation Division is a highly-skilled, aggressive investigator who actively pursues people who engage in starting fires and furthermore, identifies products that have caused fires with the objective of preventing injuries and property damage.
Each member of the MFD Fire/Arson Investigation Division rotates on-call responsibilities, which provides daily coverage to respond to requests from Chiefs and Company Fire Officers while on location.Fire/Arson investigation is a complicated endeavor that requires a coordinated effort between the Madison Fire Department and the Madison Police Department. This cooperative agreement started in 1976 with the creation of the joint Fire/Police Fire/Arson Investigation Team, which has improved our fire investigation, arson detection, and arson investigation capabilities.
